We ask Estonian nationals currently in Ukraine to leave the country at the earliest opportunity and return to Estonia. Due to Russia’s military action, we advise against any travel to Ukraine. Estonian ambassador to Ukraine Annely Kolk presents credentials

Yesterday, on 27th of September, Estonia’s ambassador to Ukraine Annely Kolk presented her credentials to President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Speaking with the Ukrainian head of state in a friendly atmosphere following the ceremony, Ambassador Kolk discussed bilateral relations between Estonia and Ukraine and opportunities for enhanced cooperation. She reiterated Estonians’ unwavering support for Ukraine for it to win the war and restore peace in the country. “The bravery of the Ukrainians is an example to everyone in Europe,” she said.

President Zelensky thanked the Estonians for their support, saying that it had been of great help to Ukraine, and described Estonia as a role model to others.
The discussion also touched upon Ukraine’s journey towards EU and NATO accession and Estonia’s staunch backing of the country in this process. “The Ukrainians deserve this,” said Ambassador Kolk. “Their place is within the European Union and NATO.”

Ambassador Kolk also invited President Zelensky to visit Estonia.
