Erika Ellamaa-Ots, Director of the Department of Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited Kyiv. Together with the Ambassador of Estonia Annely Kolk and colleagues-directors of departments of Eastern Europe of the Foreign Ministries of the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8), she held meetings with Ukrainian officials, politicians and NGOs.
Negotiations were held with the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva, at which the main attention was paid to strengthening sanctions against Russia, as well as with the Deputy Ministers of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk and Olga Yukhymchuk, where the parties discussed the current state of Ukraine’s energy sector and urgent needs.

At the meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariana Betsa, the participants paid special attention to the launch of mechanisms to hold Russia accountable, the creation of a Special Tribunal and a Compensation Commission.

Erika Ellamaa-Ots, Director of the Department of the Estonian MFA, also spoke with KSE students.
“One thing is clear – everyone wants peace but not ready to trade parts of their homeland to the aggressor. Our answer is clear: NB8 #StandWithUkraine,” Erika Ellamaa-Ots said.
