Minister of Regional Affairs and Agriculture Hendrik Johannes Terras visited Kyiv and the Zhytomyr region on September 23 and 24, accompanied by an Estonian business delegation. Meetings were held with Ukrainian local authorities, entrepreneurs, industry organizations, and on-site production facilities were toured.
The delegation, comprising nine companies and organizations, included KEVILI, Maag Food, AIRE, the Estonian Breeding Animal Breeders’ Association, Autra, InnovumLab, Safepas, Paul-Tech, and JETGREEN.
The visit began on September 23 in Kyiv with a business seminar at the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, opened by Hendrik Johannes Terras and the Chamber’s President, Gennadiy Chyzhykov. Company presentations were followed by bilateral meetings with Ukrainian firms. Discussions also covered market access, certification, and compliance with European Union requirements.
Discussions with the European Union delegation and World Bank representatives focused on how Estonian companies can utilize Ukraine’s investment framework, as well as the financing and risk mitigation instruments offered by the IFC and MIGA, to operate in Ukraine.
On September 24, the visit continued in the Zhytomyr region, a key area for Estonia’s bilateral reconstruction efforts. Estonian entrepreneurs met with local producers during a Ukrainian-Estonian agricultural dialogue held at Polissia National University. The delegation also visited the “Unite for Trade” business forum, which was taking place concurrently.
Later that day, the delegation visited Eridon’s automated dairy farm in the village of Pochuiky, as well as the vegetable growing and storage facilities of PE Impak in Andrushivka. They toured the production, storage, and logistics operations and discussed the companies’ investment plans.
The business delegation’s visit was part of the preparations for the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2027), scheduled to take place in Tallinn on January 28–29, 2027. The visit was organized by the Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture in cooperation with the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Estonia and Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Estonian Embassy in Kyiv.
